What are these strange symbols on my computer- squares, circles, and dashes?

You’ve probably switched into another language by accident. Open up the control panel and go into “Regional and Language Options”. That’s the one of the globe on the stand. Make sure the options on that page are set to English/American etc, or wherever you are located.

you would not have accidently done it… maybe a virus has… it might be fixed using regional and language settings, but be sure to run an antivirus in your computer.
